The eyelash extension industry is fairly new to the beauty world, estimated at only 10 years old! With growing popularity and interest, there are many choosing lash artistry as a career, and even more consumers choosing to "try them out". Unfortunately, the eyelash extension industry is regulated differently, or sometimes not at all, depending on your region. Simply being an esthetician or having a certificate of training from a big name company does not serve as an indicator of safe and sanitary practices. It is because of the damage being done to consumer’s lashes by unskilled or improperly educated lash technicians, that NEESA has been born. The eyelash extension industry is calling for an organization that will represent the dedicated lash artists that exercise safe and professional standards, and will raise awareness for consumers.

NEESA members are represented by a Board of Directors and a MEC (Master Executive Council), made up of peers and professionals who serve for a limited term. NEESA members agree to abide by a code of ethics, and support industry standards set by NEESA. Consumers look to NEESA for education on this up and coming beauty service, and depend on NEESA to find an Eyelash Extension Professional (LXP) in their area.
