What type of organization is NEESA and who runs it?

NEESA was created by a group of many Eyelash Extension Professionals. A group of more than 30 Eyelash Extension Professionals from all over the world collaborated together to bring this to pass. We are a non-profit 501(C) 6 Trade Association. As such, we have a Board of Directors (Currently, the founding incorporators Amber Arrington and Tialutrell McCormick), an Advisory Board of Directors and multiple committees. As a brand new organization the Advisory Board, Committees and Committee Chairs are in development, although some are acting “un-officially” in this capacity at this time.

Is NEESA membership available to those that reside OUTSIDE of the United States?

YES! Although NEESA is based the United States (Nevada), we welcome members from all over the world.

Members of NEESA share an agreement to abide by and conduct themselves in accordance with the NEESA Code of Ethics. Please visit the Code of Ethics page for details.

How long is my membership good for?

Members pay a yearly fee for membership and can renew on the anniversary date from original registration.

Do I have to be a NEESA member to take the LXP series exams?

No. The LXP curriculum and exam series is open to all Eyelash Extension Professionals. You do not have to be a member of NEESA to take an LXP exam and you do not have to take an LXP exam just because you are a NEESA member. Only NEESA members can take the LXP exams at a greatly reduced rate.

Does NEESA offer it's own training courses or endorse it's own branded products?

NEESA IS NEUTRAL. NEESA does not endorse any one brand, education course or product over the other. NEESA does not sell it’s own products nor offer its own training.

I already have a license and am certified to do eyelash extensions. Why do I need NEESA?

NEESA is needed because we love our industry and we take our profession seriously. We are not just people who “do lashes”, we are Eyelash Extension Professionals!

NEESA is working to define what an Eyelash Extension Professional is. NEESA has taken a look at the existing problems within the industry and created a corresponding program that helps to solve them!

In what other way can we align ourselves with other Eyelash Extension Professionals and receive educational and business support along with validation of our respective skill levels?  The eyelash extension industry needs ALL of us who consider ourselves true Eyelash Extension Professionals to join together as an association that supports it's members through multiple programs and serves to inform the consumer. In this way, NEESA brings longevity to our individual careers and to the industry as a whole.

The bigger we grow, the more power NEESA has to negotiate discounts and partnerships that benefit its members!

NEESA members agree to conduct themselves by a CODE OF ETHICS. This is important because agreeing on a code of ethics, as Eyelash Extension Professionals, is the cornerstone of change for our industry.

NEESA members receive discounts and referrals on items like education courses, products, liability insurance, disability insurance and free and/or discounted industry magazine subscriptions.

NEESA offers an annual educational conference (Lash Fest) and multiple eyelash extension competitions (Lash Wars) designed for lash artists to network, learn, have fun and grow individually.

NEESA is actively working on exciting perks for its members!

What is the LXP exam series and why is it important to me?

It has become clear that simply holding the appropriate license and certificate of eyelash extension training, even if from a big name company, does not indicate that the Eyelash Extension Professional is practicing safe and sanitary work. Lash artists have no way to differentiate their particular skill set to each other and more importantly, to the consumer.

NEESA has developed the LXP Exam Series Program to address this. LXP exam series offers Silver, Gold and Platinum levels so that no matter who you trained with or what brand you are affiliated with, you can demonstrate your skill level and recognize others!

As NEESA works to promote this, consumers will begin to demand these credentials.

Who develops the LXP Exam Series?

Because there is no existing standardized Eyelash Extension curriculum, NEESA is creating a standard of industry best practices. The exams are are based on these standards.

It is of key importance to the NEESA organization that the NEESA standards and LXP exam series are developed by a group of collaborating Eyelash Extension Professionals utilizing information from documentable sources and including input from chemists and doctors as needed.  The content in the exams are established based on the most current information, research  (and eventually private studies and testing) available.

LXP Silver Level was developed by a group of 5 respected Eyelash Extension Professionals with varying backgrounds such as nursing, hair transplant/restoration and exam development.

When and how can I take my LXP exam?

Each level of the LXP exam series has both a written and practical portion.

The written portion is available to study, prepare and take online.

The practical can be taken at any of the NEESA events and through approved LXP exam administrators positioned throughout North America (and eventually the world).

What is an LXP Certified Trainer?

NEESA encourages continuing education!

Eyelash Extension Professionals don’t know WHO to choose as a “Trainer”.

The obvious choice may be to take a course from a big name lash company trainer, but there are also many private individuals calling themselves a “Trainer”.

What makes someone a good trainer? What curriculum are they teaching to? What facilities do they train in?

NEESA has created an LXP Certified Trainer program. This program will take existing trainers (regardless of brand) or those wishing to become such after completing all 3 levels of LXP exams, and educate them on NEESA teaching/educational standards.

LXP Trainer Summit will be held just prior to the Lash Fest educational event.

In this way, NEESA is helping Eyelash Extension Professionals be able to choose a trainer who's practices are in line with NEESA standards.

State Board Ambassadors

State boards are regulated differently between states. Eyelash Extension are defined differently between states and countries.
